Left Hand Side Menu & Item IDs
Recap
What are Item IDs?
Every time you add a new item to your project, Efficiently Design automatically creates a unique identifier called an Item ID.
An Item ID:
Acts as a smart link between a selection type, the final product, and every place that selection appears in your Design Book
Serves as a placeholder before the exact product is chosen
Ensures consistency across your project, update the item tied to the Item ID once, and it updates everywhere that ID is used
Example
If you want to add a bed to your design but haven’t selected the exact product yet, create an Item ID. You can continue building your Design Book now and choose the final product later.

Creating Item IDs from the Left Menu
Click the plus (+) icon next to Item IDs
Apply any search filters you need
Select an item, or create an Item ID without selecting a product
This creates an Item ID even if no specific item has been chosen yet.
Using Item IDs in the Canvas
Drag an Item ID from the left-hand menu onto the page canvas
Or click the Item ID to open the fly-in panel and choose Add Item
Be sure to adjust the sort filter from Recents to Relevant so the correct items appear
Once you choose an item:
Both the Item ID and the Item Box are updated with the correct item information
Any other page using this same Item ID updates instantly
Repeat this process for all other Item IDs in your project.
Adding Elements from the Left Hand Side Menu
The same workflow applies when adding Elements to your pages:
Drag and drop elements from the left-hand menu
Edit, move, or customize them directly on the canvas
Elements help structure your page layouts and enhance your design presentation.
