Item Boxes

Updated over a week ago

Item Boxes are the core building blocks of a Design Book. They allow you to display project selections in a clean, structured format while staying linked to the item schedule.

What is an Item Box

An Item Box is a placeholder on the Design Book canvas that holds a Project Item (an Item ID and its associated Item). It can display:

  • an image only, or

  • an image plus text fields such as notes, descriptions, manufacturer info, and more.

The Item ID tag you see in the top-left corner appears only while working in the platform. It won’t show on your PDF export.

Add an Item Box to a Design Book

  1. Open your Design Book and go to the page where you want the Item Box.

  2. Option A: Click on the Elements tab on the left hand side and select Items

  3. Drag and drop your preferred item box onto the canvas

  4. You can now Drag an Item ID from the Rooms or Item IDs tabs on the left hand side into the Item Box on the canvas.

The Item ID on your canvas is automatically linked to the schedule. The Item Box will update automatically if the item details or image change in the schedule.

Edit an Item Box

  1. Drag an Item Box onto the canvas of your Design Book page.

  2. Click inside the box and select the pencil icon to open edit mode.

  3. Edit any text field, move fields around, or delete fields as needed.

Additional fields are available on the left-hand side panel, drag them into the box at any time.

  4. Adjust spacing between elements by hovering over the magenta lines and drag to adjust.

  5. Resize the image section of the box by dragging the small square on the corner.

  6. To save your Item Box as a reusable style, click out of the item box anywhere on the canvas, and click on it once more to select the dropdown at the top left of the page. Select Add new style.

    • Styles created in Themes (Admin Console) are available across all projects.

    • Styles created inside a project are available only to that project’s books.
