Specifications are standard design elements such as moulding profiles or panel styles that can be applied to relevant items. Options are product-specific design elements such as finish colors or trim styles. Both are attached to the item and do not have their own SKU.
Add Specifications or Options to an Item
Begin by navigating to an item in your project. (You can access your project items from the Plans, Item Schedules, or Books tab. In this example, we will access our item via the Item IDs schedule view.)
In the fly-in panel, select Add Spec, Option, or Dependent at the bottom.
Choose Specifications and Options from the banner at the top.
Select the Specification or Option category from the list on the left.
To create one that does not already exist, select Add Spec or Option in the upper right.
Use the filters or the search bar to find what you need. Hover and click Select.
The chosen Specification or Option will appear at the bottom of the item details.
Repeat the steps above to add more as needed.
