Snippet Tool

The Snippet Tool lets you capture a snapshot of any area on a plan. Saved snippets are stored under Project Snippets in the Images tab and can be added to books as needed.

Create a Snippet

  1. Go to the Plans tab, hover over a page, and click View.

  2. Zoom in to the area you want to capture.

  3. Select the Snippet Tool from the right-hand toolbar.

  4. Click to set the first corner, drag to size the frame, and click again to complete it.

    A preview will appear—name the snippet or retake it, then click Save.

  5. Access saved snippets from the Images tab → Project Snippets. They are now available to use in books.

Tip: When to Use Snippets

Use the Snippet Tool when you need to:

  • Highlight a specific area of a plan without sharing the full page

  • Capture installation details, dimensions, or callouts for contractors

  • Pull a visual reference into a Design Book, Installation Book, or Item Documentation

  • Provide a clear zoomed-in view of complex areas such as cabinetry, tile layouts, plumbing walls, or elevations

  • Document changes, clarifications, or RFIs with a focused snapshot

Snippets help communicate details quickly and reduce back-and-forth with clients, vendors, and installers.
