Navigating the Item Schedule: Quick Reference Guide
This article recaps how to use the Item Schedule to quickly find the information you need.
Default View: Rooms View
When you open the Item Schedule, it defaults to the Rooms View.
In this view:
Items are organized by Room → Space → Area → Location
The first columns show your locations
The next column shows the Item IDs
Understanding Areas
An Area groups related locations within a Space.
Example:
The Fireplace Area inside the Recreation Room is highlighted in orange and groups all fireplace-related locations.
Item IDs View
You can switch to the Item IDs View at any time.
In this view:
Item IDs appear first
All related locations are listed underneath each ID
Both views contain the same information. Choose the one that fits your workflow.
Using Search and Filters
Use the search bar and filters to find information faster.
Click Filters to narrow results by:
Room or Space
Spec Status
Division
Item Type
Item Status
And more
This helps you locate specific items or locations in seconds.
Location Fly-In Panel (Left Side)
Click any location in the schedule to open the location panel from the left.
Here you’ll find:
Spec status
Location notes
Comments and RFIs
Location history
⚠️ Everything in this panel applies only to that location.
Notes, comments, and history here do not affect other locations using the same Item ID.
Item ID Fly-In Panel (Right Side)
Click an Item ID to open the item panel from the right.
This panel shows item-level information, including:
Product details
Specifications and documents
Item history
All linked locations (via the Locations tab)
These details are shared wherever the Item ID appears in the project.
Understanding History
Item ID History
Found in the Item ID panel
Tracks changes made at the Item ID level
Does not show location-specific updates
Location History
Found in the Location panel
Shows activity for that specific location only
Includes location-level comments and changes
To see location history, always click the location first.
Key Reminder
Left Panel = Location Information
Right Panel = Item ID Information
Use the left panel for location-specific details and the right panel for item-wide information.
