Alternative Items: These are alternatives to the primary item that has been selected for an Item ID. For example, if the project requires a faucet, a designer can select a faucet for the project, and attach alternative options for faucets to that same Item ID so that they are stored together and can be considered later by the designer or client if needed.
Areas: Areas are related to Rooms and Spaces in the platform. An Area is within a Space (just as a Space is within a Room). For example, an area could be a Niche, a Cabinet, Stairs, a Door Opening, etc.
Attributes & Attribute Fields: Attributes are the details of a selected item, such as size, color, dimensions, etc. An Attribute Field is the placeholder within an Item Box that displays these attributes.
Book Themes: Themes are pre-designed templates that can be used to create books. Themes are created within the Admin Console. You have the option to create your own themes completely from scratch, or to customize one of the design.efficiently themes for use in your org.
Dependent Item: An item that is necessary for the installation or function of the main item (or 'Primary Item' - see below). Dependents can be decorative and may vary for the same item across projects. Dependents have their own SKU.
Item: An Item refers to a design selection.
Item Catalog: A selection of Items (design selections) that are stored in the design.efficiently platform, which is maintained by the design.efficiently team. Users can add their own Items to the catalog as well, which are viewable only by their org.
Locations: A Location is the place within a project that an Item will be installed.
Option: A design element specific to a manufacturer or a particular Item such as a finish color or trim style. Options are added to a Primary Item (see 'Primary Item' below) by a user, and do not have their own SKU.
Parts: Parts are Items that are necessary for the composition, function or installation of another Item.
Primary Item: The main Item associated with an Item ID.
Primary Space: A Primary Space (see 'Spaces' below), is the main Space that is related to a Room and is named after that Room. Every Room has a Primary Space. For example, a 'Kitchen' is a Room, which contains the Primary Space 'Kitchen', along with any other relevant spaces, such as 'Breakfast Nook' or 'Island'.
Project Item ID: An Item ID is a unique identifier that includes the Division and a unique number. Each project selection will include an Item ID (for example, a lighting selection might be called LG-01). Item IDs can be linked to one or several Locations within a project. Any changes made to the Item ID will automatically be updated across all linked Locations.
Rooms: A Room refers to a main section of the floor plan that requires unifying design selections. A Room can contain smaller sections within, called Spaces (see 'Spaces' below).
Room Categories: Room Categories refer to different groupings of similar Room Types (see 'Room Types' below). For example, 'Connecting Spaces',
'Exterior Spaces', and 'Utility Spaces' are all Room Categories.
Room Types: The different kinds of Rooms within a larger Room Category, are called Room Types. For example, the Room Types within the 'Connecting Spaces' category, might be 'Hallway', 'Entryway', 'Stairway', etc.
Spaces: A space is typically a smaller section of a plan within a Room. For example, the Room could be 'Living Room', and the Spaces could be 'Living Room', 'Bar', and 'Reading Nook'.
Specifications: Industry-standard design elements such as moulding profiles and panel styles that can be applied to relevant items. Specifications do not have SKUs.
