Specifications are industry-standard design elements such as moulding profiles and panel styles that can be applied to relevant items. Specifications do not have SKUS.

Options are product design elements specific to a manufacturer or a particular item such as a finish color or trim style. Options are included with the item and do not have their own SKU.

To add Specifications and Options to an Item selection within a project, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Begin by navigating to an item in your project. (You can access your project items from the Plans, Schedules, or Books tab. In this example, we will access our item via the Item IDs Schedule.)

Step 2: At the bottom of the fly-in, select Add Spec, Option, or Dependent.

Step 3: Select Specifications & Options from the banner at the top.

Step 4: Check the Specification or Option box from the menu on the left.

Note:

To add a Spec or Option that is not already available in the catalog, select the blue Add Spec or Option button in the upper right hand corner.

Step 5: Use the filters on the left or scroll through the search bar at the top to locate your Spec. Hover over the Spec and click to Select.

Step 6: Your Spec will now appear at the bottom of the details for that item. Follow the steps above to add any additional Specs or Options.
