Design 9 : Catalog, Lists and Clipp'r.
Updated this week

Catalog - Items

In this section, we’ll explore the various functions of the Catalog, the central hub of the platform. The Items within the catalog are the ‘Jewels’ of your project, and understanding their components is essential for efficient management.

Each Item consists of several important components:

Name

Image(s)

Attributes

Technical Documentation, including:

- Technical Details

- Installation Guidelines

- Care Instructions

- BIM Files

Catalog Item Structure: Organized and Precise

The Catalog Item Structure follows a clear hierarchy: Division → Type → Subtype.

Divisions and Type are required fields.

• This structure ensures that the correct attribute fields are displayed for each Item, keeping your Catalog organized and efficient.

• Additionally, each Item requires either a name or an image to be saved.

This structured approach simplifies catalog management and ensures that all necessary information is captured and displayed accurately.

Catalog - Specifications & Options

Specifications & Options are been covered in a previous module, If you haven't already viewed this, please do: Design 7 : Item ID's, Locations & Specifications

A specification provides additional clarification to the Item ID or the Location in the form of detailed images or diagrams. For example, a Fry Reglet specification might illustrate specific installation details or design features.

This helps communicate precise design intent effectively.

An Option is used at the Item ID to clarify additional information 'Options' that are required to be added to the Primary Item to complete the Item ID assembly for order.

In the example used, to clearly define the complete Item required, you need the Primary Item -Heat & Glo Fireplace, a Interior (Option) and a front cover (Option). Without all three the Construction Team is unable to order the Item.

Catalog - Images

Images are a vital part of your presentation, and the Image Catalog allows you and your team to manage them all in one central location. With Image Tags, you can quickly search and organize your visuals, while simple editing tools—like background removal—ensure you have everything you need to create polished, professional presentations

Lists Overview

  • My Lists: As the name suggests, these are your personal lists. You can use them at any time to filter the Catalog for quick access to relevant items.

  • 'Org' - Organization Lists: These are shared lists accessible by your entire team. You can move a personal list to an Org List at any time for team collaboration and move it back when needed.

  • Project Lists: When you create a Project, a Project List is automatically generated. This list includes:

    • Any item used within the project.

    • Any item manually added to the Project List.

Refining Your Search

When using a list filter, you can apply additional Left-Hand Side filters to narrow your search further and quickly find the item you’re looking for. This system ensures efficient catalog management and precise item selection.

Default Project Lists

These are very helpful in allowing you to set a Project Default List when adding an Item to the Item ID. If you wish to see the entire Catalog or select another list, simply clear the filters.
