Topics covered: Building a schedule, Schedule structure, Schedule categories, Schedule framework.

Updated over 8 months ago

The design.efficiently Schedule is organized into 2 different views (Rooms view and Item IDs view), in order to provide a solid structure while still maintaining flexibility.

The Rooms view creates a framework for your Schedule and we recommend starting here for maximum organization potential; however, you do not have to build out your Rooms view and can skip this entirely or leave it for later.

Rooms contains three primary components: Rooms, Spaces, and Locations.

A Room is the large bucket that the Spaces sit within. The Location is the most granular of these categories, sitting within a Space.

  • Room: Kitchen

  • Spaces:

    • General Kitchen

    • Breakfast Nook

    • Pantry

  • Location:

    • General Kitchen flooring

    • Breakfast Nook flooring

    • Pantry flooring

To build your Rooms view of the Schedule, follow the steps below:

Step 1: From within your project, navigate to the Schedules tab, where you will notice you are on the Rooms view tab.

Step 2: Click the blue Add Room button and choose from the drop-down. For example, to add a Kitchen, chose Primary Spaces.

Step 3: Choose the Room Type from the popup.

Step 4: Fill in important details for that Room, and click the '+' to add related Spaces at the bottom.

Step 5: Click the blue Create button.

Step 6: Begin adding Locations to your Spaces.

Step 7: Start by choosing your Division, followed by your Type. You can select the Sub-Type if you know it.

Note: All Divisions have associated Types and Sub-Types, with the exception of Finishes, in which instance you will simply select where the Finish will be placed in the project.

Step 8: Your new Location will appear beneath the associated Space on your Schedule.

Note: To delete this Location select the 3 vertical dots to the right of that line item.
